SHSAT Mock Tests
The Mark Twain Parents Association is pleased to offer digital, adaptive SHSAT practice tests through SHSAT Buddy.
Testing window: October 9 through October 23, 2026.
Registration and sales close Wednesday, October 21, at 7 PM.
This is a 3-hour digital adaptive practice test designed to be similar to the current SHSAT, with 100 questions total: 50 Math and 50 ELA.
Please note: Once you begin, you cannot go back to previous questions. Each registration or purchase includes one test attempt. After completing the test, students can review their answers and read explanations for each question.
Whether your student is taking the SHSAT, considering it, or just wants to see what the test is like, this is an opportunity to practice in a realistic test environment.
What is the SHSAT?
For our friends who may not know: The SHSAT, or Specialized High Schools Admissions Test, is the entrance exam used for admission to eight of NYC’s Specialized High Schools, including Stuyvesant, Brooklyn Tech, Bronx Science, and The Brooklyn Latin School. The test is typically taken by 8th and 9th graders.
If you are applying to an audition school like LaGuardia, you do not need to take the SHSAT. LaGuardia is a Specialized High School, but admission is based on an audition, not the SHSAT.
